A tutorial on how to make a chemise a la Reine

Lolita is a Japanese street fashion that started around the 1980s. It started as a rebellion against the expectations Japanese women faced from society at the time. Instead of the expectation of giving up your job and passions to get married and have children women started thrifting and making cute, feminine items as a way to do things just for themselves.

A round up of my experience at this years’ Costume Symposium

The annual review of the previous year is up.

As an introvert, last year wasn’t all to social. I spent it alone in a now defunct restaurant, drawing in my sketchbook.

This year is about the same, if anything more social as my friendship has adapted to communication online. However, as someone used to enjoying alone time I can offer my thoughts for spending the big day by yourself.
